Alan Moore's Michael Moorcock and London
Michael Moorcock is one of the most popular and prolific writers in the English language, bringing vast literary invention to a host of genres. Best known for his fantasy and science fiction, he edited New Worlds from 1964 to 1980, making it into one of the truly important and experimental magazines of it time. Among his most acclaimed novels is Mother London, a triumph of the imagination delving deep into the multiplicity of London life. On a rare visit to the capital, the city and his relationship with its forms will comprise the core of the evening’s conversation with Alan Moore, the greatest graphic novelist of our times (From Hell, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). The event will be introduced by Iain Sinclair.

Dr Manhattan from The Watchmen to make an appearance in London this evening
I've been hearing rumours about this all week. it has been confirmed that Dr Manhattan from The Watchmen to make an appearance in London this evening (4 March 2009).The best view will be from here. Or you can just watch the live video stream here!. My understanding is that he will be appearing around 8pm.

The good news? THIS IS HAPPENING. The bad news? IT'S HAPPENING IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS TIME.
It's going to take place at the Paramount International Screening Room in Building 5, Chiswick Park TOMORROW (that's TUESDAY 3RD MARCH) at 10.30am (nearest station is Gunnersbury Tube, on the District Line).

I realise that's less than ideal timing, not nearly enough notice, and a bit out of the way, but we've got 50 (extremely comfortable) seats to fill, so if you're on the list below (or coming to this cold, and interested in attending) please drop the contacts listed on the original blogger invite page ASAP.
Obviously we'll be treating anyone listed below as priority, after which any extra names we receive will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis.

In celebration of the release of the Watchmen motion picture, Orbital Comics is proud to announce a unique opportunity for you to see a momentous piece of original art from the classic 1980s award winning comic book series the film was based upon. WATCHMEN MOVIE: RORSCHACH GRAPPLING GUN AND MASK Prop Replica Set
WATCHMEN MOVIE: OWL SHIP Scale Replica
This prop replica set of Rorschach's grappling gun and mask were created from the actual digital files and pattern that were used to create the pieces used in the movie!
The grappling gun is permanently attached to a display base (which features a Rorschach pattern that is authentic to the movie), while the mask is removable.
The entire piece measures approximately 10.5" high x 13.25" wide x 8" deep, and is packaged in a 4-color box.
