Frickin "A" The Fun Lovin' Criminals are back baby! After a 5 year hiatus New York's finest are back with a with a new album.

FLC the The alternative Hip Hop / Rap / Alternative Rock / Funk / Lounge / Blues / Jazz band have been away due to some legal issues involving management and their record labels. They have been keeping it relatively low key and operating out of London. Issues have now been resolved (or contracts expired) and Huey Morgan, Brian 'Fast' Leiser and Mark Francis Reid's sixth studio album Plastic Fantastic comes out on March 1, 2010. The first single from the album Classic Fantastic is out on February 22. Having listened to preview tracks of Classic Fantastic I can say that it says what it is on the tin - Classic Fantastic.

The Losers a comic that won Best New Comic, National Comics Awards 2004 and Nominated for the Best New Series, Eisner Awards 2004, is currently being turned into a major motion picture. And Forbidden Planet are hosting a signing with Andy Diggle & Jock creators of THE LOSERS.

They're down - but not out. The Company thought it had taken care of the Losers. After they saw a little too much at the wrong place and time, their chopper went down in flames with no survivors and plenty of deniability - and the Losers went down in the records as just another team of black ops foot soldiers tragically lost to one of the CIA's shadow wars. But the Losers were just playing dead - and now that they've seen what the Company is really up to, they're through with games. Now it's time to take the fight back to its source. Time for some payback...

With the eagerly anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures movie The Losers set to reach theaters in April 2010, DC Comics collects the first twelve issues of THE LOSERS — from the ANTE UP and DOUBLE DOWN TPs — into a single, explosive volume! This collection introduces The Losers, formerly an elite U.S. Special Forces unit that served as the covert bloody hand of America until they stumbled across a C.I.A. secret they couldn't ignore. The C.I.A. tried to kill them, but they're about to learn that it takes more than one try to eliminate The Losers.

The idea was very loosely based on the original Losers for DC Comics, a group of World War II soldiers, although Andy Diggle maintains he has never read a single issue of the original series.

Is the Losers film close to the comic?
If you like the comics the film is more than likely going to rock your world. Below are some images matching scenes from the trailer to the comic and theyr'e pretty damn close. Check out the scene where Jensen infiltrates The Goliath Groups building it's almost shot frame by frame from the comic.

Cougar - The sniper, identified by his cowboy hat and haunted demeanor. Morose and laconic as a result of a traumatic combat incident in Afghanistan. An absolute genius with the rifle.

Colonel Franklin Clay - The Leader, easily identified by a consistent use of black suits without ties. A meticulous planner, initiative-taker and an excellent leader, Clay harbors the largest grudge against Max, at times appearing visibly angry at the mention of his name.

Roque - The second-in-command, easily identified by the large, vertical scar down the right side of his face and icy demeanor. His ruthless thirst for money motivates a majority of his actions, including the serial betrayal of the Losers and many of his underlings.

Sgt. Linwood 'Pooch' Porteous - The pilot, identifiable by his shaved head and
laid-back appearance, has been known to pilot any ground, air or sea vehicle with ease.
Despite his involvement with the CIA and Special Forces, is also married with children.

Max - A Keyser Söze-like mastermind wielding unprecedented, covert influence over
the U.S. intelligence community and military institutions. Organized the assassination of
Aisha's father, a slave trader and local warlord, and the subsequent "accident" of the
Losers when they went off-mission. Although the current Max enjoys substantial influence
over the CIA and infamy throughout the Black Ops community, the "Max" codename
predates the CIA itself by several years.

Aisha - The loose cannon, identified by her eyebrow piercing and tied-back hair.
Partners with the Losers in light of their common goal of killing Max. Skilled in all combat
skills, with particular emphasis on melee and reconnaissance, stemming from a harsh
upbringing in Afghanistan and Pakistan, primarily fighting as a child against Soviet
soldiers during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. A cold-blooded killer who prefers to leave
corpses rather than survivors when she engages the enemy.

Jensen - The hacker, characterized by his spiky blonde hair, glasses and a
conspicuous beard on his chin. Known for his nonstop motormouth that often leads him
into trouble and a variety of conversational tangents.

iRock4Haiti event London tonight

"iRock4Haiti" is a celebrity charity fund-raiser in association with The British Red Cross on Tuesday 16th Feb at Altitude London. Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan & Hip Hop Star Wyclef Jean are hosting the star studded party along with special VIP Guests to Celebrate The Brits & British Music at London's hottest new venue Altitude London.

London's elite will come together on Tuesday 16th February for "iRock4Haiti" a charity fund-raiser event in association with The British Red Cross & will screen the Brits Live in The MillBank Cinema & the after party will be held in the newly opened River Room, in Westminster SW1.

This is a celebrity fund raiser event to benefit the Haiti earthquake victims. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross. Limited tickets will be made available to the general public. It will be held at Altitude London’s two new event spaces, situated in the Millbank Tower in London’s Westminster, which are joining forces to present this unique experience.

This invitation only event will make a limited number of tickets available to the general public with all proceeds going to The British Red Cross.

The Millbank Cinema & Media Centre will be screening the BRIT Awards live between 8pm – 11pm on its newly installed, world class, state-of-the-art facilities. Limited tickets are priced at £50, which includes a deluxe buffet dinner. Ian Fleming book auction scheduled for 18 February

Several Ian Fleming-penned James Bond first editions will be hitting the auction block in Godalming, UK next month as part of Bloomsbury’s Bibliophile sale.

Q&A Kolton Lee & Preview of Freestyle

The London Film School are hosting a special sneak preview of Freestyle followed by Q&A with director Kolton Lee and actors Lucy Konadu Arinze Kene , James Hamilton , Rhoda M'Hango. Chaired by Mia Bays

Kolton is an established Director and Writer. He represented the UK as an international basketball player before turning to sports journalism. He worked for The Voice, and became editor within a year, before becoming news editor for The News on Sunday.

Kolton worked for the BBC before being accepted for The National Film And Television School where he was signed up by a film agent the moment he graduated. He worked on several TV series, including Eastenders before taking on directing projects in New York. Whilst there, he made the acclaimed short film, American Mod, and his play, An Evening with Michael Jordan, was staged at the Natural Black Theatre of Harlem.

Kolton wrote and directed the low budget feature film Cherps (“a brash indie debut…a fitting ‘Alfie’ for these times..” Variety.com) for which he won an Independent Spirit Award. Cherps has played in festivals across the world and was recently bought by the BBC to be broadcast as part of their British film season. Kolton’s most recent film Blood was also recently sold to MTV in North America.

Freestyle was developed and produced as part of Film London’s Microwave programme.

Launched in 2006, Microwave is a groundbreaking scheme set up by Film London with BBC Films, which has extensive support from Skillset. It challenges London-based film-makers to shoot a feature film for up to £100,000 with cash and in-kind support. Microwave provides an intensive approach to film-making with the emphasis on original ideas, tightly focussed scripts and short production schedules. The film-makers are supported by extensive training and mentoring from the initial conception of the project all the way through to its release. Solomon Kane comes to London

John Landis in Conversation

Legend John Landis is currently in London filming Burke and Hare - a black comedy about a pair of infamous 19th century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. Burke and Hare stars; Simon Pegg & Andy Serkis as William Burke & William Hare respectively as well as Isla Fisher, John Cleese, Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Merchant and Jenny Agutter amongst others.

So it makes sense that while he is here that the BFI are delighted to welcome the iconic director John Landis back to their Southbank stage.

Following a sensational surprise appearance at the last year's Halloween BUG music-video special, the BFI are delighted to welcome John Landis back to the BFI Southbank stage. Director of such modern-day classics as The Blues Brothers, Animal House and An American Werewolf In London, Landis has been responsible for some of the most memorable characters in American pop culture.

It is worth noting that the BFI will be screening John Landis' Slasher just before the talk. Slasher was Landis' first foray into documentary, Landis profiles a real American character: used-car salesman Michael Bennett, aka 'Slasher'. A fidgety, chain-smoking fast-talker, Bennett travels the country helping dealerships liquidate their languishing clunkers in weekend blowouts replete with drastically slashed prices and smarmy, in-your-face sales techniques. As Landis follows Bennett through one particularly frenetic sale in Memphis, Slasher becomes both a fascinating character study and a cultural exposé of that most enduring of US archetypes - the used-car huckster.

Logorama is the first short film by the french collective H5. Previously they made music videos for the likes of Alex Gopher, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp and Röyksopp.

Logorama visualizes and explores the way that logos are increasingly embedded in our existence. It has won a raft of awards including the Kodak Prix at Cannes last year and is currently in the running for an Oscar.

The filmmakers website (http://www.logorama-themovie.com/) promises "Spectacular car chases, an intense hostage crisis, wild animals rampaging through the city... and even more in LOGORAMA !"

QA with Josh Appignanesi & The Infidel Preview Screening

When I first heard about David Baddiel's The Infidel (back when they were looking for actors) I was a little hesitant - a British, religious comedy, based around Judaism and Islam? Crikey that sounds dangerous!

After regulary visiting The Infidel website (http://infidelmovie.com/) to catch up on production progress, checking out the numerous humourous behind the scenes clips on the site and viewing the trailer below - I can't wait to see the film. It looks sharp, witty, engaging and absolutely hilarious. Once again a case of not judging a film by it's name. It looks like Revolver have got a hit in the bag.

Edgar Wright produced and directed the aptly named Dead Right during 1993, when he was just 18 years old. Filmed in his hometown Wells (as was Hot Fuzz) it was his first bash in the the Cop genre.

He wrote, direct, shot, recorded the sound and produced the film. All of the characters are played by school friends. Not only does Dead Right parody Dirty Harry but it gets it title for the original title of the first Dirty Harry film "Dead Right".

The last Death Wish directed by Michael Winner and featuring a soundtrack by Jimmy Page, this is cinema at it's trashiest… and loudest!

What happens when you spend most of your childhood in a cinema? Is excessive consumption of films bad for you?

By the look of things you write a book called It's Only a Movie and then you go on a tour of the UK promoting it.

What happens when you spend most of your childhood in a cinema? Is excessive consumption of films bad for you?

Britain's leading film critic Mark Kermode considers these questions (plus more from the audience), drawing on scenes from real life: getting shot at while interviewing Werner Herzog in the Hollywood Hills, being handbagged by Helen Mirren at the BAFTAs, and being thrown out of the Cannes Film Festival for heckling in very bad French.
If you grew up believing that Planet of the Apes told you all you needed to know about politics, that Slade in Flame was a savage exposé of the pop world, and that The Exorcist revealed the meaning of life, then you probably spent far too many of your formative years at the cinema. Just as likely, you soon would have realised that there was only one career open to you - you'd have to become a film critic.

Below is an except from Kermode's book about the Werner Herzog shooting followed by a video clip of the shocking event.

We were somewhere near Lookout Mountain, on the outskirts of LA, when Werner Herzog's trousers exploded. It was a small explosion, admittedly, as if a firecracker had gone off in his pocket. But it was an explosion none the less and in an area where unexpected bangs are to be treated with suspicion, if not outright alarm. Herzog had been shot – that much was clear – and was even now bleeding quietly into his boxer shorts as a tiny plume of smoke drifted photogenically from his pelvic region and into the evening air of LA. We stood there, the bold Bavarian with a bullet in his groin and the befuddled British film critic with ridiculous hair from Barnet, in a silence broken only by Herzog's morosely German observation: "Someone is shooting at us. We should leave…"
