Martin Cambell's Green Lantern is still a little way off with an expected release date of June 2011, this is a month earlier than Marvel hero Captain America is expected to be on the big screen. This will be the closest that heroes from the two different houses will go up against each in the box office stakes.In the Green Lantern currently being shot in New Orleans, Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is a test pilot is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe. He will go toe to toe against Sinestro played by Mark Strong.

This character pop in and out of the DC universe I wonder if she'll do the same in the DC films in a similar fashion to Marvel's Nick Fury?Blake Lively as Jordan's love interest and boss Carol Ferris, Peter Sarsgaard as evil genius Hector Hammond, Tim Robbins as Senator Hammond (Hector's father) and Temuera Morrison as the alien Abin Sur thast passes his ring on to Jordan.
