A Carl Foreman Award screening of Hunger and discussion with the director Steve Steve McQueen

THE CARL FOREMAN AWARD SCREENING AND DISCUSSION - HUNGER

The Carl Foreman Award recognises and encourages the most promising new British Writers, Directors and Producers. This year's winner, Steve McQueen was presneted with the Award at the Orange British Academy Film Awards on 8 February. This event will comprise a screening of his winning film Hunger followed by an onstage discussion with Steve McQueen.

An intimate portrayal of life in Northern Ireland's Maze Prison at the time of the 1981 IRA Hunger Strike, led by Bobby Sands. The film explores what happens when the morality of people, whether prisoners or prison guards, is tested to the limit, when the body itself is used as a weapon for people not being heard.
