The simplicity of sun, sea and sand. The luxury of five-star hotels, water sports, shopping and entertainment. This is Sharm el-Sheikh, one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai peninsula. All around are Bedouins, colorful tents, mountains and sea. There are small, intimate hotels with modern designs, as well as larger hotel complexes belonging to International chains, plus about all the amenities one could expect of a tourist center, including casinos, discos and nightclubs, golf courses and health facilities. In fact, with diving and snorkeling, windsurfing and other water sports, horses and camel riding, desert safaris, and great nearby antiquities attractions, it is almost impossible for a visitor to ever suffer from boredom.

Silver Surfer billboard, Vauxhall London

This large cross media billboard was erected outside my apartment block this week. The Silver Surfer is a life size model with a photo realistic city behind him.

4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
With Von Doom back in his homeland of Latveria the fantastic four have new troubles when Galactus has decided that Earth is his next target. When his henchman, The Silver Surfer, is sent to Earth he discovers that he's getting more than he bargained for when he encounters the Fantastic Four. But that's not all when Dr. Doom decides that after two years in the homeland he is ready to return. Written by Gharrett Favinger

Ed's Diner, Soho, London, originally uploaded by Craig Grobler.

Ed’s founded the American diner culture in the UK, creating a fun, family dining experience when we opened our first site in London’s Soho in November 1987. Ed’s is the original 1950s classic diner which has its roots in post-war culture. Our music is Rock ‘n’ Roll, our food tastes great and we offer service with a smile!

Channel 4 building, Westminster, London

Originally based at 60 Charlotte Street (the same building in which former chief executive Jeremy Isaacs later originally based his Artsworld channel), close to the BT Tower in London's film and media heartland, Channel 4 has occupied since 1994 a distinctive, purpose-designed building at 124 Horseferry Road, Westminster, designed by Richard Rogers Partnership with structural engineering by Ove Arup & Partners.

Architecturally it follows on from, but is more restrained than, the Lloyd's building in the City of London, and was constructed between 1991 and 1994. It was built on the former site of a Methodist teacher-training college, which occupied a neo-Gothic campus intermittently from its foundation in 1851 until World War II, when the buildings were badly damaged by an incendiary bomb. The College eventually moved to a purpose-built site in Oxford in 1959 and became Westminster College, Oxford.

Despite commissioning all programmes from independent production companies, the Channel 4 headquarters contains a studio and post production facility, marketed as 124 Facilities. The studio has been used for Channel 4 programmes (such as T4 continuity), and third party programmes (such as the base for Five's football coverage). The studio was closed at the end of October 2007.

As of June 2008, there is a sculpture outside the building with the Channel 4 logo; note how from one angle the 4 is not visible, as can be seen in many of the company's on screen branding.

Picture taken by Adaircairell of the Channel 4 building in Horseferry Road, taken on the 16 June 2008.

Protest outside Downing Street, Westminster,London

Thousands of citizens of the Horn of Africa staged a mass demonstration in Downing Street, London, protesting against United Kingdom and the United States for supporting the Ethiopian government.

As they demonstrate, the protesters hoisted hundreds of flags of Eritrea, Somalia, Eritrea, Ogaden and Oromo. They also waved so many placards, calling for unity against what they referred to as the Ethiopia government-led conflict, which saw the burning down of villages, raping of women and children in the Ogaden region.

Downing Street is the street in London, England, which for over two hundred years has contained the official residences of two of the most senior British cabinet ministers: the First Lord of the Treasury, an office held by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and the Second Lord of the Treasury, an office held by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. The most famous address in Downing Street is 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the First Lord of the Treasury—and thus, in modern times, the residence of the Prime Minister, since the two roles have usually been filled by the same person (exclusively so since 1902). As a result of this, Downing Street or Number 10 is often used as a metonym for the Prime Minister or his or her office, while Number 11 is likewise a term for the Chancellor of the Exchequer or his or her office.

Downing Street is located in Whitehall in central London, a few minutes' walk from the Houses of Parliament and on the edge of the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The street was built in the 1680s by Sir George Downing, 1st Baronet (1632–1689) on the site of a mansion called Hampden House. Downing was a soldier and diplomat who served under Oliver Cromwell and King Charles II. In the service of the King he was rewarded with the plot of land adjoining St James's Park upon which Downing Street now stands. The Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Chief Whip all officially live in houses on one side of the street. The houses on the other side were all replaced by the Foreign Office in the nineteenth century. In the 1950s and 1960s, plans were considered to demolish both the Foreign Office and the rest of Downing Street and build "something more modern".[citation needed] However, these plans were never implemented and have long since been abandoned.

The also asked Ethiopian forces to quit the Eritrean territory, release Oromo prisoners and withdraw it troops from Somalia.

Senate House, Bloomsbury, London - Location of Batman Begins & The Dark Knight

Senate House, the administrative centre of the University of London, lies in the heart of Bloomsbury between the School of Oriental and African Studies to the north, with the British Museum to the south.

The main building contains the administrative offices of the University of London, including the offices of the Chancellor of the University, as well as the entire collection of the Senate House Library. The building consists of 19 floors and is 210 feet (64 m) high. The main entrance is from Malet Street to the west and the rear entrance from Russell Square to the east.

It is thought that the move of the Ministry of Information in the Second World War may have been a source of inspiration for the Ministry of Truth buildings in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Also, a library office there may have been the inspiration for Room 101 in that novel's Ministry of Love. Senate House is also popular with the film and television industries as a shooting location:

- Film of Richard III, 1995 (UK/USA), starring Ian McKellen
- Nineteen Eighty-Four 1984, (UK), where it portrayed the Ministry of Love.
- Blue Ice, a thriller starring Michael Caine and Sean Young, where it portrayed the Royal Hotel.
- Batman Begins 2005 (UK/USA), where it portrayed the hall of the main courthouse.
- The Hunger 1983, where its entrance hallway portrays part of a US hospital.
- Enduring Love
- The Day of the Triffids, 1962, as "The London Tower"
- The Revengers' Comedies
